Samalayuca

“Samalayuca” area rug is a statement piece inspired by the soft sand dunes in Samalayuca Desert in Northern Mexico. The organic curves represent the tall and dramatically shaped dunes, while the palette represents the sunlight movement over the sand dunes through the course of the day. This piece was designed by preview studio Brera Studio, and made in collaboration with local Mexican artisans with over 80 hours of rug-shaving work to imitate the ups and downs of the desert dunes, offering a wonderful tactile experience when you rest or step barefoot over the rug.
